The new development of L2 motivation research:The theoretical construction and application route of the Directed Motivational Currents

定向动机流是在目标设定理论和流体理论基础上提出的最新动机理论,是激励和支持长期二语学习的动机驱动力。该理论包含五个方面的基本内容:目标或愿景定向性、启动、促成性结构、积极的情感负载及最终阶段。本文主要从定向动机流的理论建构与应用路径两个方面对其进行全面介绍。

Based on the Goal Setting Theory and Flow Theory, the theory of Directed Motivational Currents(DMCs) is initiated as motivational driving forces, which are capable of initiating and sustaining long-term L2 learning. Five key elements have been concluded in this theory: goal/vision orientedness, launching of a DMC, facilitative structure, positive emotional loading and the final stage of a DMC. This paper introduces DMCs in terms of its theoretical construction and application route comprehensively.
