关于ESP教学理念的“是”与“非”——读卢思源与蔡基刚相关论述的启示 被引量:4

摘要 通过分析卢思源与蔡基刚两位学者的相关论述,揭示专门用途英语(ESP)教学理念的以下"是"与"非":ESP的"专门"是指"用途"而非"英语";ESP是语言课程而非专业课程;ESP应主要培养专业学习技能及较高层次的交际技能而非日常的社会交际技能;ESP教学应是大学英语教学的"替身"或"本身"而非"延伸";ESP教材特别强调的是真实性而非循序性;ESP教师应是多重角色集于一身者而非单纯的授课者。 This article demonstrates some enlightenment the author has gained from the brilliant expositions by Prof. Lu Siyuan and Prof. Cai Jigang and presents the follow ing pros and cons about the concept of ESP: The w ord specific refers to purposes rather than English; ESP is a linguistic course instead of a specialized course; ESP aims mainly at developing the student 's skills for specialized studies and high-level communication and not those merely for daily social communication;ESP course should be the replacement for the existing College English course rather than its extension;the compilation of ESP textbooks lays special emphasis on authenticity instead of sequential gradualness; the ESP teacher should play multiple roles and not the only role as instructor.
