姚范与问津书院

Yao Fan and Wenjin Academy

一代名儒姚范是执掌清代天津问津书院的著名山长,缘于史料欠缺,历来对其寓津时间及学术影响罕有提及。姚范主讲问津书院的时间为乾隆十九年(1754)四月至乾隆二十八年(1763)春之间。其在问津书院传扬周孔之道,强调道德性情,将汉学之考据与宋学之义理折衷调合。姚范主讲问津书院,是桐城派与京畿文学以及教育关联的一个生动例证。

The famous scholar Yao Fan was once in charge of Tianjin Wenjin Academy of Qing Dynasty. Due to lack of historical materials, people rarely mentioned the time that he lived in Tianjin and his academic influence. Between April 1754 and the spring of 1763, Yao Fan taught in Tianjin Wenjin Academy. He propagandized the ideology about Zhou Gong and Confucius, emphasized morality, coalesced academic about Han and Song. Yao Fan＇s lecture in the Tianjin Academy is a vivid example of the association between the Tongcheng School and the Beijing-based literature and education.
