语句的生成与解读——试从“植入认知”立论

Sentence Production and Interpretation Analyzed from the Point of View of Grounding Cognition

早期的认知科学认为,语句的生成与解读就是对自然语言符号亦即形式符号或曰命题符号的操作。诞生于上世纪九十年代的植入认知却认为,语句的生成与解读是操作形式符号这一看法并不符合认知活动的实际情况。植入认知提出以模态符号为认知的载体,但植入认知关于模态符号的研究遇到了难题。本文提出,可以用"意象"这一模型符号作为语句生成与解读的植入认知活动的载体和核心工具,并同"事件"和"用例事件"概念构成了一个语句生成与解读的理论框架。

Early development of cognitive study held that sentence production and interpretation was a process of the operating of language symbols, or formal symbols. Nevertheless, the grounded-cognition approach in the cognitive sciences, which appeared in the 1990＇s, maintained that this idea was not true to the real process in cognitive operation. The grounded cognition put forward another type of symbols—modal symbol as the carrier for the cognitive operation. Yet the grounded-cognition approach has for this met problems. The present paper suggests image as the core tool and the carrier for cognitive operation,together with the concepts concerned ＂event＂ and ＂usage event＂, so as to construct a theoretical framework of sentence production and interpretation.
