In The Blood from Navel Orange, the white woman＇s mastery of Huang A-xian, a Chinese man, whose resistance was expressed as his consciousness of ethnicity awakened, made the orange base a space full of conflicts. From the perspective of Humanistic Geography, Huang A-xian＇s struggles for his cultural identity revealed Chinese immigrants＇ international experience of life and their psychological journey for being out-of-place in the United States, because years of painstaking work and intense loyalty to his master Marie wouldn＇t bring any existential space to A-xian.
