On the evening of May 18, the Shanghai Opera House's original opera Li Dazhao was presented in concert at the Shanghai Grand Theatre. Devised as an opera with a positive message and popular appeal, the plot is easy to follow and the musical language conventional. From this early tryout, music critic Fu Xianzhou is confident of the opera's development.
