The paper analyses the social basis and features of American sports industry development.American sports industry has developed for a long time and the national policy,economy,culture,system and domestic and international environment are the basis for its development.The social Puritanism,middle class group,industrialization and urbanization process have great influence on American sports industry development.The paper proposes to establish the people oriented concept,increase the sports industry population,promote the integrative development of sports industry,improve the external environment of sports industry and establish the system basis of sports industry development.
