Research Progress on the Functional Properties of TMCO1 Gene Protein Channel and Its Relationship with Disease

跨膜卷曲螺旋结构域蛋白1（transmembrane and coiled-coil domains 1, TMCO1 ）基因编码的蛋白通道是一类新型钙激活的钙离子通道，主要位于内质网七。目前已证实TMCO1与多种疾病有关，但有关TMCO1的性质及作用研究报道仍然处于初级阶段，还有大量的未知信息值得我们深入探讨。文章将介绍TMCO1的基因及蛋白特性、与疾病的关系及展望等有关信息，为未来TMCO1引发的疾病治疗及基础研究作铺垫。

The protein channel encoded by the transmembrane and coiled-coil domains 1 （TM- CO1） gene is a new type of calcium-activated calcium channel, which is mainly located on the en- doplasmic reticulum. It has been confirmed that TMCO1 is related to various diseases. However, the researches about the nature and role of TMCO1 are still in their infancy, and there is a large amount of unknown information that is worth further discussion. Here, we review the characteristics of TM- CO1 gene and protein, and the relationship between TMCO1 and diseases in order to lay a founda- tion for the treatment of TMCOl-induced diseases and fundamental researches in the future.
