植物蒸馏有很长的历史,除了实践的用处外,对化学科学的建立也起过极其重要的推动作用。一方面,它被波义耳用于怀疑和否定旧有的元素概念与理论;另一方面,它指明新的物质理论应该从可靠的实验分析中来,实验的结果应该能够重复,实验分析有时代局限性。这些结果都深刻影响了拉瓦锡对植物蒸馏科学理论的建立。

Plants distillation has a long history. Besides the practical use,it has also played an extremely important role in the establishment of chemical science. On the one hand,it was used by Boyle to doubt and deny the old element concept and theories;on the other hand,it pointed out that the new material theory should be derived from reliable experimental analysis,and the experimental results should be able to be repeated,and the experimental analysis has the times limitation. These results have profoundly influenced Lavoisier＇s establishment of scientific theory of plants distillation.
