The research on documentary authenticity is the core issue of documentary research. Compared with the past, contemporary documentaries have developed in depth and authenticity is the same. Under the contemporary realistic background, authenticity tends to be a comprehensive cognition, with numerous influencing factors, more modernized concepts, and more natural and direct content value transmission. This paper discusses the development of documentary authenticity in the contemporary context from concept to development direction in an all-round way. It attempts to explore the unique way of the development of contemporary documentary authenticity.
