The Historical Comparison Method in the Research on MaoZedong: Necessity and Misunderstanding

当前关于毛泽东及其思想的历史比较研究中存在诸多方法论误区,需要分析辨明并厘清其中不当之议。有人缺乏比较双方的深入研究,打着历史比较方法的旗号进行机械类比,描绘出毛泽东的所谓"新形象";有人诉诸抽象人性分析,通过历史比较方法,试图挖掘出毛泽东的"另一面";有人简单套用历史比较方法,推崇和照搬西方史学理论,对毛泽东进行不具可比性的历史比较研究。只有站在国家立场和民族立场,坚持历史唯物主义的历史比较方法,才能客观科学地研究毛泽东及其思想。

As there are many methodological misunderstandings in the current comparative study of Mao Zedong and his thoughts,so it is necessary to analyze and clarify then. Some people lack the deep study on both sides of the comparison,they make mechanical analogy under the banner of historical comparison method and depict the so-called ＂new image＂of MAO Zedong. Some people resort to abstract human nature analysis and try to unearth the＂other side＂of MAO Zedong through historical comparison method. Some people simply applied historical comparison method,praised and copied western historiography theories,and conducted the non-comparable historical comparison studies on MAO Zedong. Only by standing on the state and national standpoint and adhering to historical comparative method of historical materialism can we objectively and scientifically study Mao Zedong and his thoughts.
