Taking full advantage of the theatrical space, A Streetcar Named Desire skillfully constructs pieces of vivid, unique and profound landscapes, presenting to the audience slums, and the living conditions of homosexuals, immigrants and other marginalized groups. Using background music as a medium, the playwright creates a set of poetic landscapes, externalizing the inner world of characters, which makes spectators think about many social problems, like the relationship between urban development and the care of the marginalized groups, conflicts between local people and immigrants, and the struggle between the North and the South.
