The Usability and Stability of Google Scholar Metrics in Journal Evaluation

[目的/意义]旨在为期刊评价提供参考。[方法/过程]以2016年和2017年Google Scholar Metrics发布的H5指数前100名的学术期刊为研究对象,分析H5指数和H5中位数在期刊学术影响力分析中的适用性和稳定性。[结果/结论 ]H5与SJRH存在极显著的二次曲线正相关,与JCR-IF、JCR-IF5则呈现较弱的指数相关,但是与SJR不存在显著相关性。相比之下,H5中位数与JCR和SJR各项指数均存在极显著的线性正相关。

[Purpose/significance] The paper is to provide reference for journal evaluation. [Method/process] The paper takes top 100 academic journals of H5 index published by Google Scholar Metrics in 2016—2017 as research object, analyzes the usability and stability of H5 index and H5-median index in evaluation of journal academic influences. [Result/conclusion] H5 has a positive curvilinear correlation with SJR-H, has a weaker index correlation with JCR-IF and JCR-IF5, and has no significant correlation with SJR. By comparison, H5-median index has a positive correlation with indexes like JCR and SJR.
