Objective: To explore influence of humanistic care on anxiety and depression in children undergoing surgeries. Methods: 386 patients were divided into two groups according to the ball touching method: the observation group and the control group. The two groups received routine nursing care during the perioperative period. Besides, the observation group received humanistic care. The scores of Hamilton anxiety scale (HAMA) and Hamilton depression scale (HAD), incidence of postoperative complications and satisfaction with nursing care of the families were compared between the two groups. Results: After the nursing, the scores of the two groups were significantly improved, and the improvement of the observation group was significantly higher than that of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant ( P 〈0.05). The incidence of complications in the observation group was 1.0% (2/200), which was significantly lower than that in the control group of 11.1% (22/198), and the difference was statistically significant ( P 〈0.05). The satisfaction score on the nursing of the observation group was (96.38±1.77), which was significantly higher than that of the control group of (89.67±3.72), and the difference was statistically significant ( P 〈0.05). Conclusions: On the basis of the routine nursing care, the humanistic care can effectively alleviate anxiety and depression in the children undergoing surgeries.
