历史真相的变异与史家无奈的折中——以《历史三调》为例

On the Alienation of Historic Truth and Historians' Helpless Eclecticism

在《历史三调》中,我们不难看出柯文的无奈,也不难看出历史与历史学之间的张力,这种张力恰是历史学存在的不二法则。事实上,人类基本人性中重叠部分要远大于人类的文化异质性,片面强调文化差异会歪曲我们的自我认知,或许放下主客观之间的争论,站在人本主义的高度,应该能更好地接触到过去的历史和现在的历史。

In the book,＂History in Three Keys：The Boxers as Event, Experience, and Myth＂written by Paul A. Cohen,we easily find not only Cohen＇s helpless eclecticism, but also the tension between history and historical studies. It is the tension that is the only principle in historical studies. In fact, the overlapped parts in man＇s basic nature are far wider than man＇s cultural alienation, while one-sided emphasis on cultural alienation would misrepresent man＇s selfknowledge. Maybe we should stop arguments on both subjective and objective knowledge, and study historical issues with the view of humanism, which can help us to study both past and current history.
