This paper describes the development and demand of reactive power compensation technology,introduces the principles and advantages of SVG reactive power compensation technology, focuses on analysis of the application of SVG in the field of high voltage and low voltage reactive power compensation, provides the calculation method and configuration principles of capacity of SVG reactive power compensation in practical application, and summarizes the practical significance and future development trends of of SVG.
