Using philosophical anthropology, this paper puts forward thecase that culture is created by man through his work. In the process of cultureformation, he transforms what he inherited from the past as a legacy for thefuture while he himself simultaneously undergoes self-transformation. Theculture he creates and that has created him is influenced by the understanding ofwho and what he is. The claim is proven through a discussion on what culture isand how it develops, followed by a reflection on the notion of person andwork, and, lastly, a discussion on the future of mainstream culture emphasizingthe importance of the humanities in preparing this future. The paper spins offfrom Joel Stein and Josh Sanburn's article in Time magazine about “ the newgreatest generation ” -the narcissistic, net savvy, earnest, and optimisticmillennials. I will also rely on Karol Wojtyla's notion of the person, education, and community.
