摘要
本文以方以智（1611—1671）代表作《通雅》为研究对象,由《通雅·动物》部分试论方以智如何处理名物训释的问题。第一部分讨论《通雅》对《尔雅》所开创的雅学传统既有继承,更有发展,《通雅》内容更广,且语词分类较前人系统,训释名物词所用的论证方法亦综合多样。第二部分讨论方以智对名物训释的态度,首先不可以字系物,要正视异物同名,更重要的是,不可拘泥于名物,而应当根据语境探寻词义。
This paper analyses the approach to glosses regarding animal terminology in Fang Yizhi＇ s（ 1611-1671） Tongya. After positioning his comprehensive investigation in the wider Erya tradition,it explores the ways in which Fang Yizhi evaluated received interpretations of animal terms and established newavenues towards their disambiguation and clarification. In addition,it discusses selected examples of Fang Yizhi＇ s method at work,including his analysis of the relationship between names and reality,divergent terminological practices,and his arguments for contextualized readings.
