Value Consensus and World Peace

价值可以具有普世性,而价值观只能具有特殊性.价值观的特殊性就是全球化过程中必须予以扬弃的东西,因此,全球化社会应该建立在某种价值共识的基础上.然而,在过去的全球化浪潮中,价值共识主要表现为价值身份,从本质上而言,其充当着输出并宣传西方价值观的工具.结果是,价值身份在不同价值观中造成了普遍而严重的分歧,并对世界和平构成了威胁.就价值身份而言,它仅仅只是价值共识的一种表现形式,其另一种表现形式是对不同价值的认可.在当代全球化社会,只有努力倡导并实现不同价值之间的认同,我们才能促进并保护世界和平.

A value can be universal, and any concept of value can only be particular. The particularity of concepts of values is the factor which has to be sublated in the movement of globalization, since global society should be based on some kind of value consensus. However, in the past movement of globalization, the value consensus has mainly displayed as value identification, which essentially functioned as the tool to export and expand the so-called universal western values. As a result, value identification causes a widespread and serious dispute among different concepts of values, which seriously threatens world peace. As far as value identification is concerned, itJs only the one manifestation of value consensus, and another manifestation is recognition of different values. In contemporary global society, only when we try hard to advocate and realize recognition of different values can we promote and safeguard world peace.
