Comment on Saussure's Theory of Text Expressing Language and the Essence of Text

索绪尔的"文字表现语言论",被语言学界尊奉为不容置疑的公理,但这个几乎举世公认的"语言学公理"却与语言文字的事实大不相符;并且其理论本身也存在不可调和的矛盾,无法成立。文字的目的和本质是为概念创造一种物质依托,文字是概念的代表,是记录思想的书写符号系统。

Saussure＇s theory of Text expresses language was honored by the academic community as an indisputable linguistic axiom. However,this almost universally accepted linguistic axiom is not in accordance with the facts of language and text. Yet the theory itself has irreconcilable conflicts. The purpose and essence of the text is to create a material support for the concept. The text is a representative of the concept and a symbolic system to record thoughts.
