The Past,Present and Future of Honesty in China

诚信是我国自古以来源远流长的政治意识形态和社会道德准则之一，也是现代中国国家理性的重要表现。诚信作为一种伦理政治价值观，承载着丰富的思想资源；今天它也产生了凝聚人心与维护公道的社会效益；而我国在前不久提出的二十四字社会主义核心价值观则将“诚信”提到了国家意识形态和精神文明建设的战略层面上，这不仅为诚信价值观夯实了新的理论基础，也为它的进一步发展和充实指明了方向。

Honesty is one of China＇s political ideologies and social ethics since the ancient times. As an important ethical and pohtical value, honesty carries rich ideological resources; today it still helps unite the people and maintain social justice; in the twenty-four-word socialist values proposed recently, honesty is put on the strategic level of state ideology and spiritual civilization, which not only consolidates a new theoretical foundation for honesty values, but also indicates the direction for its further development and enhancement.
