The Comparison Between H-index and P-index

[目的/意义]针对目前h指数和p指数之间关系的研究大多囿于利用观测数据进行统计学上的相关性分析,缺乏深入系统的研究,为更深入地认识h指数和p指数之间的区别与联系,指导它们在具体实践中的应用,对二者之间的关系进行了深入系统的研究。[方法/过程]在阐述h指数的定义和p指数的计算公式的基础上,通过比较分析的方法,探讨了h指数和p指数之间的异同。[结果/结论]认为:h指数和p指数在计量分析单元、计算过程简洁性、评价结果的综合性及激励高品质论文产出等方面具有一致性,另外通过严密的推导,发现h指数与p指数在一定的条件下存在高度的一致性;但它们在区分度、敏感性、考察视野、约束力、稳定性、波动性、取值范围、信息内涵和应用范围等方面也存在明显的差异。

[Purpose/Significance]In view of the correlation between the h-index and the p-index,most of them are limited to the statistical correlation analysis using observational data,and lack of in-depth and systematic research.A more thorough and systematic study on the relationship between h-index and p-index was conducted to explore their difference and connection,which could further benefit their application in evaluation.[Method/Process]The difference and similarity of h-index and p-index was analyzed by the method of comparison analysis based on the description of the h-index definition and p-index calculation formula.[Result/Conclusion]The results showed that there was a comparatively higher consistency between h-index and p-index in quantitative analysis unit,conciseness of calculation,integrity of evaluation,and promoting the production of high-quality paper.In addition,we also found that there was a high consistence between h-index and p-index by tight deducing.However,there was obvious difference between h-index and p-index in distinction degree,sensibility,investigating view,constraining force,stability,span,volatility,field of application and information connotation.
