Objective This paper tries to investigate the clinical efficacy and safety of amiodarone combined with metoprolol in the treatment of chronic heart failure(CHF) and ventricular arrhythmia(VA). Methods 86 patients with CHF and VA who were admitted to the Department of Cardiology in the hospital from February 2015 to March 2016 were convenient selected and randomly assigned to the observation group and the control group, 43 cases in each group. Both groups were given routine anti-cardiac therapy. The patients in the control group were treated with metoprolol and the observation group was treated with amiodarone. The clinical efficacy and safety of the two groups were compared. Results Compared with the two groups, the total effective rate in the observation group was 97.67%, which was significantly higher than that in the control group(81.40%). There was a significant difference after(χ~2=7.295, P〈0.05). Combined with patient self-feeling, physical examination, electrocardiogram, liver function test results for safety evaluation, the results showed that the incidence of adverse reactions in the two groups was similar(4.65% vs 6.98%), and there was no significant difference(χ~2=0.056, P〉0.05).Conclusion Amiodarone combined with metoprolol is effective in the treatment of chronic heart failure and ventricular arrhythmia, and does not increase adverse reactions. The safety is worthy of recognition and is recommended for clinical use.
