Analysis and Treatment of Semantic Focus in English-Chinese Translation

英汉翻译时,为了做到最大程度地忠实原文,我们的首要任务就是要准确把握句子的语义重心。高质量的译文对译者的语言水平要求较高,同时会存在大量复合句、长难句。对于结构复杂、环环相扣的长句,正确地理解语义、做到行文缜密,是保证译文质量的关键。本文通过翻译的实践案例对英汉翻译过程中如何把握句子的语义重心进行了分析和研究,最终证实了在翻译过程中,语义重心不变和发生变化的情况,以及在翻译实践中如何进行双语转换。

In order to be faithful to the original text,our primary task is to accurately grasp the semantic focus of sentences in English-Chinese translation.High-quality translation requires that translators have strong ability of language comprehension.There will be a large number of complex sentences,long sentences,complex structure and correlative meaning,so to correctly understand the semantics is the key to ensure the quality of translation.This paper will analyze and study how to grasp the semantic focus in English-Chinese translation through practical cases.Finally,it is confirmed whether the semantic focus will change or not in different situations,and,how to carry out bilingual conversion in translation.
