The Analysis of Defending Characteristics of the Great Wall during the Warring States Qin period in Ningxia

Based on the latest and comprehensive investigation results, this paper mainly discusses the trend, construction characteristics, defense types and protection system of the warring States period Qin Great Wall in Ningxia. The trend layout reflects the Qin people＇s emphasis on the development and utilization of the loess plateau, especially on the idea of emphasizing agriculture on the plateau. Making full use of the terrain of mountains and rivers in the construction and the wall structure rammed by loess reflect the principles of building according to local conditions and using local materials. The combination of city and barrier, and the integration of wall and platform reflect the aggressive strategy of the Qin people to expand their borders, which is of great significance to the indepth study of the military history of the warring States period in Qin Great Wall and the state of Qin.
