The Strategic Significance and Opportunity of Comprehensively Deepening Reform and Opening up in Hainan in the New Era

在海南建省办经济特区30周年之际,习近平总书记宣布党中央、国务院支持海南全面深化改革开放,支持海南全岛建设自由贸易试验区,逐步探索建设、稳步推进中国特色自由贸易港,这是党中央赋予海南改革开放的历史新使命,也是应对当前经济去全球化逆风的重大战略举措。海南要牢牢把握历史机遇,率先突破体制机制弊端,实现高质量发展,推行积极主动的开放战略,构建开放型经济新体制,为全国提供可复制可推广的经验,为构建人类命运共同体贡献自己的力量。

On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of Hainan Special Economic Zone and Hainan Province,General Secretary Xi Jinping announced that the Party Central Committee and the State Council support Hainan＇s deepening of reform and opening up,support Hainan Island ＇s establishment of a Free Trade Pilot Zone and gradually exploration of constructing a Free Trade Port with Chinese characteristics. This is the historic new mission conferred by the Party Central Committee,and is also a major strategic move to respond to the current headwinds of anti economic globalization. Hainan should firmly grasp the historical opportunities,conscientiously think about it,and take the lead in breaking the drawbacks of the institutional mechanism to achieve high-quality development. It should also implement a proactive and open strategy,and establish an open economic new system,providing replicable and scalable experiences for the country,contributing its own strength to build a human destiny community.
