Problems of Enrollment and Employment in Higher Vocational Colleges and Their Countermeasures

高职院校面临生源数量不足和质量下降的瓶颈,在就业方面存在就业层次不高、专业相关度低等问题。建议国家保障高职院校招生规模,优化生源结构,与本科院校联合办学,适当增加优势专业招生比例,增开人才缺口较大的专业,重点建设特色专业,利用新媒体加强招生宣传;开展就业指导和服务,支持取得职业证书,积极开拓就业市场,力促毕业生创业,鼓励学生入伍或者继续深造。

Higher vocational colleges are hitting the bottleneck of quantity insufficiency and quality reduction for student pool. In terms of employment, the main problems are low levels and low correlation degree. It is suggested that the government assure the scale of enrollment of higher vocational colleges, optimize the structure of student pool, establish joint education with undergraduate colleges and universities, properly increase the enrollment ratio of dominant majors, set up the professional disciplines which lack qualified personnel, focus on the construction of unique subjects, improve the enrollment propaganda with the help of new media; develop employment guidance and service, support obtaining the certificate of practice, develop the job market actively, urge the graduates to start their business, encourage students to join the army or take up advanced studies.
