The translation of fantasy literature is not only an understanding and expression of the text meaning,but also a process of aesthetic re-creation through interpretation. The translator must bring the subjectivity into full play,go deep into the original text and fully express its meaning in the target language. Meanwhile,in order to achieve a long-lived translation,the translator have to complete the fusion of horizons with the original author in cultural and aesthetic ways.The Chinese version of the epic fantasy The Song of Ice and Fire is a good example of fusion of horizons with the source text at cultural and aesthetic levels.
