As a native writer from Zhaoqing, Yang Fang＇s essays are influenced both in themes and aesthetic by the culture of the south of Five Ridges. Many of her essays describe ordinary being＇s life, happiness and sufferings, which leads to a simple and warm style. In Yang＇s book, we can still find some essays on discussing profound issues and thoughts, but finally they all go back to the material world, which is her real concern.
