妈祖是海神,妈祖文化是中国海洋文化的典型代表,妈祖文化景观具有突出的海洋性元素。以妈祖文化发祥地湄洲岛为例,妈祖祖庙建筑装饰艺术、妈祖祭典、妈祖服饰、妈祖饮食、妈祖文学艺术与传说故事等妈祖文化景观中包含着海洋性元素。妈祖文化景观海洋性元素旅游开发应遵循市场性、创新性、可持续性、主题性、综合性等原则。

Mazu is a sea-god,and Mazu culture is the typical representative of Chinese sea culture,with obvious marine elements in Mazu cultural landscape. Meizhou island is the birthplace of Mazu culture,where Mazu cultural landscapes,such as the architectural decoration art of Mazu temple,the memorial ceremony of Mazu,the dress and diet of Mazu,the literature and story of Mazu etc,all contain the marine elements. The tourism development for the marine elements in Mazu cultural landscape should follow the principles such as marketability,innovativeness,sustainability,thematic nature,and integrity etc.
