敦煌是古代亚欧大陆陆路交通的咽喉和桥梁,史称敦煌为"华戎所交一都会也"。唐五代敦煌更是一个多民族聚居区,各民族之间互通婚姻的现象非常普遍,与之相应,敦煌婚俗也产生明显的胡化倾向。
