摘要
1926年,英国政府委托以W.H.哈多为主席的教育咨询委员会对英国基础教育体制进行考察,以开展中等教育改革。咨询委员会发表了题为《青少年教育》的调查报告,这就是著名的哈多报告。哈多报告提出应使初等和中等教育成为一个连续的过程,所有满11岁的青少年都应当进入各种类型的中等学校接受教育,还提出了一系列关于课程设置、教学设备、考试方式等方面的意见。哈多报告对英国教育制度改革产生了深远的影响,在人类教育思想史上也有重要的地位。
In 1926,the British government entrusted the Consultative Committee led by W. H. Hadow with the investigation into the elementary system in Britain so as to carry out the reform on secondary education. The Consultative Committee published an investigation report titled The Education of the Adolescent,the famous Hadow Report. The report proposed that primary education and secondary education should be a continuous process and all the adolescent up to 11 years old should enter various types of secondary schools,and it gave advice on the curriculum,equipment and examinations. The Hadow Report had a profound impact on British educational reform,which had important position in the history of educational thoughts.
