In March 2018, the world＇ s first pedestrian death caused by a self-driving car triggered intense discussions from all walks of life. Taking this case as a breakthrough point, this article discusses the legal responsibility, safety supervision and certification about self-driving cars. And we believe that it is undoubtedly unreasonable to demand that the self-driving car to be 100% safe and reliable as a condition of legalization. In the face of this new technology, we need to consider more about how to establish a supporting legal system, ethical regulations and other facilities to ensure the safety of self-driving car and promote its development.
