The digital publishing has injected great vitality to the development of publishing industry.With the help of information technology, academic periodicals have realized their own transformation and development. At the same time, academic journal editors have encountered some problems such as lack of technical guarantee, editors＇ digital publishing skills to be improved, and lack of editorial participation. The role orientation of academic periodicals has been blurred. Through updating the editorial concept, optimizing the role positioning, expanding the editing function, bettering the editing skills, refining the professional division of labor and improving the editing structure, this paper puts forward the role optimization path of the academic journal editors.
