摘要
哈代小说的民间信仰因素反映了英国西南边陲以万物有灵为核心的民间精神信仰和朴素哲思,它既是哈代小说民间文化审美的重要内涵,更是独特的艺术表现形式。民间信仰从以下几个方面发挥了应有的文本建构功能:预示人物命运、推动情节发展、营造神秘氛围和渲染乡土色彩。民间信仰书写是对现实民俗饱含匠心的艺术重构,体现了深层的文本内审美价值。
Folk religion in Hardy＇s novels reflects the folk spiritual beliefs and modest philosophy centered on animalism in the artificial world of Wessex modeled on Hardy＇s homeland,remote southwest of England. It is an aesthetic connotation of folk culture in Hardy＇s novels as well as a unique artistic form of expression. Its textual functions include foretelling characters＇ destiny,promoting plot development,creating mysterious atmosphere and rendering native colors. The writing of folk religion has not only artistic and aesthetic significance within the text but also social and cultural significance beyond the text.
