The Coordinate of Media Ecology in Communication Studies under Paradigm Theory

媒介环境学派被认为是并行于经验学派和批判学派的传播学第三大学派,其学术观点和理论体系呈现出与其他二者明确的区别,这一区别恰符合范式理论视野下对社会科学研究的划分。经验学派理论符合客观经验主义范式,批判学派理论属于批判主义范式,媒介环境学则使用了诠释经验主义范式。本文通过以三大范式对传播学三学派学说进行梳理审视,总结媒介环境学的特征,明确其研究方法、对象、问题、观点及结论的价值取向,在比较三者异同中明确媒介环境学对建构主义和批判主义的调和性与主体性。

Media ecology is regarded as the theory of the third school of communication studies in parallel with the empirical school and the critical school.It shows a clear distinction with other theoretical systems.Such difference agrees to the three partitions in social science under the paradigm theory.The empirical theories conform to the paradigm of positivism,the critical theory belongs to the paradigm of criticism,while media ecology uses the paradigm of interpretivism.This thesis combs and examines theories of the three schools of communication studies,summarizes the characteristics of media ecology,clarifies the value orientation of its research methods,objects,questions,viewpoints,conclusions,and the feature of mediating positivism and criticism,and proves the subjectivity of media ecology in the comparison of the three theoretical systems.
