Research progress on the immunological correlates of protection for enteric bacterial vaccines

免疫保护相关物是指疫苗诱导的与免疫保护之间存在统计学上相关的免疫应答。肠道细菌疫苗免疫保护相关物的确定，将有助于改进低收入地区上市疫苗的应用以及有利于对正在研发的疫苗检测，最终使这类疫苗更加经济、有效。当前大多数已上市和处于研发阶段的肠道细菌疫苗缺乏免疫保护相关物，需要开展大量研究来建立其免疫保护相关物。

The immunological correlate of protection is an immune response induced by vaccines that is statistically interrelated with protection. Identification of the immunological correlates of protection for enteric bacterial vaccines will help to improve the performance of vaccines used in lowincome areas and facilitate the testing of vaccines under development, eventually making vaccines more economical and effective. Most of enteric bacterial vaccines in market or under development lack immunological correlates of protection, thus studies need to be done to establish their immunological correlates of protection.
