Waver ley; or,＇Tis Sixty Years Since, Sir Walter Scott＇s first Scottish historical novel, represents the history and cultural memory of the1745 Highland event by way of the Highland travel of a young English noble Edward Waverley. Tully-Veolan,a typical ＂Scottish manor house sixty years since＂,was destroyed in this event and rebuilt later,which reflects Scott＇s complex political imagination of Scotland and the United Kingdom of Great Britain after the Acts of Union in 1707. First as a site of the family memory,Tully-Veolan was transformed into the site of Scottish traumatic memory, and then into the site of the common destiny of Scotland England. This indicates Scott was imagining Scotland within the framework of the Scotland-England Union.
