解析与对话:西方抒情诗如何呈现内心

Western Lyric’s Approach to the Mind

本文探讨西方诗歌研究中的一个核心概念——抒情诗（lyric）。＂抒情诗＂在西方语境中到底具备何种意义？西方抒情诗对于内心的呈现有什么样清晰可辨的特征？通过与中国＂抒情传统＂理论的对照,本文对西方抒情诗概念的内涵及其在16-20世纪诗歌传统中的表现加以细致分析。在西方抒情诗中,诗人用不同方式与灵魂及其意象进行对话,考察、剖析自身,书写内心所具有的相互纠缠的精神性和物质属性,以及个体意识与外在环境的关系。隐喻和呼告作为其基本修辞手法,与富有逻辑的句法相结合,构成一种思辨性极强的＂抒情＂诗传统。

This essay examines the distinct features and connotations of the Western lyric, a concept both illuminated and obscured by theories of the Chinese lyric tradition. Through a close analysis of a number of interlinked poems,mostly in English,from the early modern and modern period, the essay outlines two endemic features of the lyric that have not been fully discussed： first,a simultaneously analytical and integrative approach toward the mind; Second, a built-in inclination to be addressed to a person or thing other than the self,functioning as a soliloquy.
