A Review of the Studies on Asian Female Political Leaders : Studying Paradigms and Analyzing Tools

亚洲女政治领袖现象不仅出现时间早,而且人数众多。在男性占据主导地位的亚洲父权社会,为什么女性能掌握最高权力?她们掌权后面临什么问题?与男领袖有何不同?国外学者对这些议题已进行深入探讨,并形成了基本的研究范式。本文对国外学界有关亚洲政治女领袖研究进行学术回顾,总结其研究范式和分析工具,并指出其存在的问题和今后研究努力的方向。

Asian female political leaders came into existence early and notably in a large number. There lies in an interesting question why females can hold power in a quintessentially Asian patriarchal society. What problems they will face if they stay at the helm?What do they differentiate from their male counterparts? In fact,voluminous and various scholarship regarding these questions has ensued,and finally resulted in some basic theoretical paradigms. Under this circumstance,the author tries to undertake a comprehensive literature review revolving around the questions mentioned above,to present the paradigms and analyzing tools attached to the scholarship,and more importantly,to explore the significant drawbacks underlying in the current research and discuss how relevant researchers can improve their research on this subject to facilitate further progress.
