黄河下游主河道属于宽浅河道,枯水期,当流量少于300m3/s左右时,测验河段就开始出现夹沟、鸡心滩,平时用于经常测验的机动测船只能测取主流,无法达到夹沟进行测验。为测取夹沟流量,只好采用冲锋舟绕过鸡心滩到达夹沟进行测验。冲锋舟本来是用于抢险时做运输和巡查用的,因此上面没用专用的用于安装流速仪测验的测速支架,测速时就利用手持悬杆悬吊流速仪,靠人力把持着悬杆进行测验,操作及不规范,操作人员劳动轻度大,尤其冬季操作人员长时间把持悬杆,更加辛苦。为解决枯水期冲锋舟测验无专用测速支架的问题,孙口站测验技术人员经过技术研究和反复试验,成功研制出了自动化便携式测速支架,在冲锋舟上得到了较好的应用。
