摘要
This paper describes a Think-Aloud Protocol study exploring how the translators use the monolingual dictionary during the decoding and encoding process. The study finds that different microstructural elements in the entry help translators in different ways, not only assisting their comprehension but also helping them seek the equivalence and produce translation.Functions of sense, word class and other elements in the dictionary are also identified respectively by comparing the translators’TAPs and analyzing their comments.
