We has stepped into the era of the information society supported by big data technology. The principle of Chinese government’s image has undergone a transition from closing to opening,from power to service,and from rule of man to rule of law.Big data brings great opportunities to our government’s image building. It can improve the scientificity and democracy of decision-making management, enhance the government’s ability to predict crises, and also save the cost of social governance. At the same time,big data is a double-edged sword. It may also bring hidden danger threatening the capability of governance,or has impact on government credibility, and even other problems. When the government’s data opening is insufficient, it will also affect the transparency of the government. To solve these problems, we must cultivate high quality data talents to research and develop advanced core technology, take a suitable guidance of public opinion in the data environment, improve the level of data opening and the transparency of government information,take full advantage of big data to help shaping government image,and try best to avoid the negative effects.
