Missions and Responsibilities of Open Universities in the New Era

党的十九大作出"中国特色社会主义进入新时代"、"我国社会主要矛盾已经转化为人民日益增长的美好生活需要和不平衡不充分的发展之间的矛盾"的判断,这将给党和国家的战略、纲领、方针、政策带来一系列的变化。作为新型高等学校的开放大学,也必将面临新机遇与新挑战,需要深入研讨"新时代"带来的新变化,"新矛盾"赋予的新内涵,明确自己的使命与担当,在决胜全面建成小康社会、开启建设社会主义现代化强国新征程中发挥应有的作用。

In The 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China？ CPC states that China has entered ＂the new era of Chinese socialism＂ and ＂the major contradiction in our society has turned into the contradiction between people＇s growing need for better life and the unbalanced and insufficient development＂. A series of changes in terms of strategies, programs, principles and policies of the Party and our nation will be made by these new statements. Open universities, as a new type of higher education, is facing new opportunities and new challenges in the ＂new era＂ with respect of new connotations of the ＂new contradictions＂, missions and responsibilities. It will play important role on the new journey of building a comprehensive well-off society and a strong, modernized socialist country.
