The Historical Context and Generative Logic of the Folk Double Suicide Poetry in the South of Hubei Province

殉情叙事是鄂南民间叙事长诗的一大特色,鄂南民间殉情诗因此成为鄂南文化中值得关注一大现象。造成这一现象的原因可从历史语境和文化心理结构两个方面进行分析。殉情诗产生于清朝中后期这一传统意识形态遭遇挑战,现代社会开始逐步到来的时期,儒家思想的意识形态规训日渐失效使得悲剧叙事具备了新的合法性。鄂南地区文化结构多元,苗、越、楚等文化潜在造就了当地人醇厚而激烈,易走极端的文化性格,直接表现为对于殉情叙事的欣赏、认同与创作。

Double suicide narration is one of the characteristics of the folk narrative poetry in the south of Hubei province,which is a cultural phenomenon worthy of attention. The causes of this phenomenon can be analyzed fromtwo aspects： the historical context and the cultural-psychological formation. Double suicide poems appeared in the mid and late Qing Dynasty. In this period,traditional ideology was facing to be challenged,modern society began to come gradually,and tragic narrative had new legitimacy because of the failure of the thoughts of Confucianism discipline. The south of Hubei province consisted of Miao culture,Yue culture,and Chu culture potentially created the cultural personality of being mellow and fierce and easily going to extremes. This cultural personality was directly shown as the appreciation,identification and creation of the double suicide narrative.
