Discussion on Poetry and Cities

武汉连续举办了五届公共空间诗歌活动,热闹的活动现场常常诗情澎湃。然而,城镇化、都市化、国际化进程似乎在一点点驱逐抒情诗,现代生活与抒情诗构成悖论。所以,无论是在乡村还是城市,诗人都要去发现无法逆转的现代化进程为他所提供的新的诗歌灵感,改造诗歌语言和抒情方式,创造一种与现代人生存境况相应和的诗歌类型。

Wuhan has successively held five lively activities on public space poetry. However,urbanization,metropolitanization and internationalization are driving out the lyric poetry which is against the modern life. Therefore,not only in the countryside but also in the city,poets need to find the inspiration for the poetry in the irreversible process of modernization,change the poetic language and the lyrical way of expression,so as to create a new type of poetry which corresponds to the living situation of modern people.
