"诗言志"和"温柔敦厚"这两个中国诗论的重要概念初可见于《尚书·尧典》,经过《礼记·乐记》和《诗·大序》的阐发后继续发展,对当时及后世诗论产生了深远的影响。从诗言志缘于情、诗的情感表达以及诗情感表达的实际功用三方面进行陈述,展现"诗言志"及诗教观念的发源及初期发展。

＂Poetry Expressing One＇s Will＂ and the poetry theory of being^Tender and Gentle＂ can be found in The Book of History： The Chronology of Emperor Yao, and be interpreted by The Book of RitesYueji and The Major Preface to the Mao Text of the Book of Poetry .These two conceptions are destined to have far -reaching impact on poetic theories.This article tries to present the origin and development of these two conceptions from three aspects： Poetry Expressing One ’ s Will from emotions, expressing emotions through poetry and the function of it.
