话题终结与和谐关系管理

摘要 为了明确话题终结过程中影响中日异文化交际场面中的和谐关系管理的因素及推进和谐关系构建的会话策略,本文依照杨虹(2007)的观点将话题终结分为三类,对10组(2人一组)中日大学生初次闲谈的会话数据(40~60分/组)进行了分析,并结合跟踪采访中得到的报告结果,援用"和谐关系管理(Rapport Management)"理论进行了考察。研究结果表明,话题终结的类型并非影响和谐关系管理的决定性因素,先行话题终结之后的沉默时间及新话题的内容选择会对和谐关系管理产生影响。 The purpose of this study is to clarify the factors that promote rapport building conversation strategies. This study uses affect rapport management in Japanese conversations and to the topic closing patterns shown by Yang (2007) and classities them into three categories. The data consists of dyadic casual conversations of 40-60 minutes duration conducted by university students who are organized into 10 conversation pairs consisting of one Japanese language learner and one Japanese native speaker each pair, none of whom have met before. The results indicate that although Yang (2007) claims a collaborative topic closing is effective for rapport building, the pairs who tend to conduct topic closing collaboratively have not necessarily established a better relationship with one another than the other pairs, as was made clear by the follow-up interviews. Moreover, a long silence after the collaborative topic closing is an obstruction to rapport building. On the other band, initiating topics related to one's conversational partner seems to have better outcomes on rapport building, even when following a non-collaborative topic closing.
