Recent Trends in Contemporary Western Translation Studies

本文以国际知名翻译研究学者Yves Gambier教授2017年在北外的授课和研讨为基础,结合其相关论著,从翻译研究的范式转变、视听翻译研究和翻译政策研究等方面,介绍了Gambier教授的最新研究成果和当代西方翻译研究发展的新趋势。社会发展、技术进步和全球化改变着当下的翻译实践,引发了翻译研究从对等范式向文化转向范式和数字范式的转变。文章还详细探讨了西方翻译研究最近几年来兴起的新的研究热点,如视听翻译和翻译政策研究。

Based on a series of lectures and seminars given by Professor Yves Gambier at Beijing Foreign Studies University in 2017 and his related publications,this paper introduces Professor Gambier's latest research findings and recent developments of Western Translation Studies from the aspects of paradigm shift in Translation Studies,audiovisual translation and translation policy. Technological progress and social development are changing translation practice. As a result,Translation Studies is experiencing a shift from the equivalence paradigm to the paradigm of cultural turn and a shift to the digital paradigm,pushing translation scholars to rethink the object,scope and methodology of Translation Studies and to reconstruct its basic concepts. New research hotspots thriving in Western Translation Studies in recent years,such as audiovisual translation and translation policy,are also explored.
