Study on American Library Immigration Service under New Immigration Policy

美国收紧移民政策,美国图书馆界为此开展了行动指南与"欢迎"计划,声援与持续服务移民,延续其移民服务传统。其中,行动指南用以帮助移民及图书馆应对执法审查与询问,"欢迎"计划探索在新政之下图书馆服务移民及难民的方法与路径。研究美国图书馆移民服务实践,对我国图书馆界有如下启示:践行核心价值观,开展移民服务;服务外延,建设社会公共空间。

The United States has tightened its immigration policy. American library circles carry out Action Guideline and Welcome Project to support and serve immigrants to continue their immigration service tradition. The action guide is designed to help immigrants and libraries respond to law enforcement reviews and inquiries, and the welcome project explores approach and means for libraries to serve immigrants and refugees under the new policy. Libraries in China can learn from American advanced service experience for the immigrants in terms of practicing library core value to serve immigrants and extending library service to build social public space.
